Update: Well, I only have 15 days left in my public teaching career. We're getting ready to have our moving sale, showing the Johns Creek house, starting our garden, researching farming topics, remodeling the farmhouse, and packing while holding down our day jobs. Our dream becomes reality! Signed up for Natures Harmony Farm School. Lots to keep us busy!

Thanks for writing, Joyce! What breed of chicken layers do you have? We want to have chicken and duck layers on pasture with guineas. Our house goes on the market this week. It's an exciting time!

I've just heard your interview with Jimmy Moore and I'll be excited to follow your progress as new farmers (and also catch up on all your previous podcasts). I've been on a similar path starting with eliminating grains and then buying a farm. I mainly raise chickens for eggs and have started 50 chicks for the first time. I've learned almost everything from books so I appreciate those of you who have a gift for writing.

thank you!

Thanks for writing us, Debbie! Where is your suburb? I hope you find the perfect place. We'll be putting together videos and blogs of our various farm projects as they progress, and hope to offer some e-courses on homesteading, as well. We won't tell anyone what they "should" do, but we'll be happy to share our experiences and what we learn from them.

We are coming right behind you! We are in the process of selling our home in "suburbia" and looking to "Buy the farm" too! I am a retired teacher and we just celebrated 15 years together also! I am looking forward to reading about your adventures and hope to gain some knowledge about what to do next!
